Thoughts about picking out a Mazda or any car for that matter and which one to buy?
When picking out a Mazda, let's say a 3 for that matter! You need to decide which "Trim Level" you want! There are for example 3 different trim levels! GX/GS SKY & GT! Inside those trim levels is of course different choices like Manual or Automatic! They come WITHOUT Air, WITH Air and WITH what they call a "Convenience Package"! That means on the steering wheel you can connect to your phone and it comes with cruise control! That's just in the GX Trim Level! Now in the GS SKY Trim you get all that with the choice of Manual or Auto still AND you get more options! Like you can just choose the BASE model if you want but for an extra 5 dollars a month you can add a Moonroof! You also get fog lights with the Moonoroof pkg! Then it becomes a little tricky.. You can select a Luxury pkg, which you get the moonroof but you get extra's like Leather seats, auto dimming mirror, homelink to your garage door and 6 way power driver's seat! THEN it gets even more cooler with the "Luxury/Touring model!" You get upgraded to a BOSE surround sound system and MUCH MUCH more! If you really want it ALL, then order our GT Model which basically you are getting ALOT for under 31,000! All kinds of technology like Blind spot monitoring, NAV system, SIRIUS Satellite, i-ELOOP technology and more! You really have to stop into Bay Mazda so you can pick out which car or SUV is right for you! We can explain all the payments and go through all the options with you! The secret behind the SKYACTIV body!
IN SETTING OUT TO ENGINEER THE LIGHT AND STIFF VEHICLE STRUCTURE
REQUIRED TO ENSURE THAT THE 2014 MAZDA3 IS EFFICIENT, SAFE AND FUN
TO DRIVE, THE COMPANY LOOKED TO THE SKYACTIV-BODY ARCHITECTURE.
The engineers took the basic body-frame structure of the CX-5 and Mazda6 and optimized it for the size and
performance characteristics of a compact car. In the process, they made comprehensive design changes to
the materials and structural elements in order to meet the conflicting needs for lower weight, better impact
safety, and higher rigidity.
Impressively, while the 2014 Mazda3 is roughly 100lbs (45kg) lighter, it is also significantly stiffer. Torsional
rigidity of the hatchback is improved by 31% and the sedan is 28% stiffer.
In order to accomplish this, the engineers utilized a number of key design approaches:
1. Straight Frame Structure
2. Continuous Frame Structure
3. Optimized cross-sectional shapes
and sizes of frame members
4. Having frame members serve more than one
purpose where possible (e.g. dual brace stiffeners
strengthen the floor of the trunk and also provide
a mounting point for the rear struts)
5. More floor members (positioned more effectively)
However, engineers didn’t just set out to create a lighter, stiffer structure that enhances performance – they
also wanted to create a vehicle that’s safer. In order to realize this important objective, they looked at how
impact loads are handled by the front structure of the vehicle.
To improve crash safety performance, Mazda adopted a multi-load path structure. The structure efficiently
absorbs the load at the time of a crash by dispersing it in multiple directions. For example, impact energy
from a frontal collision is dispersed along three continuous load paths that run from the front frame to the:
1. A-pillar 2. Side of the body 3. B-frame
In particular, the upper branch frame, which diverts the load to the A-pillar, is a multi-functional part that also
works to cancel the upward motion of the front frame. To create this kind of path, parts such as door hinges,
which do not normally play any role in absorbing shock, are important elements in the design. Naturally,
the multi-load path structure is adopted for lateral collisions and rear collisions as well – greatly improving
occupant safety in the process

Discounting..thoughts from the Digital guy coming from Radio!
Discounting! Probably thE #1 thing on everyone's mind when shopping, especially for a car! We should probably get the air cleared right away with Mazda, just by looking at the "Net Invoice" vs the MSRP Invoice! And really there ISN'T that much of a mark up on Mazda's! You have to trust me when I say that! Maybe that's something that Mazda should consider, but I don't think they should because it is such a good product they don't have to show the deep discounts like the other's show! Maybe it's a mind thing for the customer, but when you make a superior product like Mazda does, you shouldn't have to discount. I have bought and sold a lot of things over my years in sales and I can tell you this, there is a big mark up in accessories and services but with the actual product in it's self. NO! Laptops.. NO..TV's NO..Appliances, MEH..Houses..MEH...But again with Mazda's.. not really..The difference with most dealers is in the trade. If you have one and how much are they willing to take a cut out of the profit and that's ultimately what it comes down to..SO folks trust me when I say when it comes to Mazda's especially here at BAY MAZDA in BELLEVILLE, we will explain to you that really, the cars have a little bit of margin in them or gross but not a lot! But we always appreciate people asking, cause I think's it's natural for people to ask, it's built into our DNA to ask for a deal! SKYACTIV versus competitive technologies
Recently, Mazda brought together the Mazda3 GS SKYACTIV
and a number of competitors to evaluate how each of these
technologies performed in the heat of the Red Rock Canyon
(Nevada). These competitors included:
4 Chevrolet Volt
4 Nissan Leaf
4 Toyota Prius
Two of each model were obtained and driven through the
desert on a 60 mile (roughly 100km) loop. The results are
noted in the column to the right.
The best fuel economy was achieved by the Toyota Prius;
however, the consensus amongst those who drove the
vehicles was that the Prius represented a greater compromise
than they were prepared to live with. The Chevrolet Volt failed
to live up to the hype while the Mazda3 delivered better fuel
consumption than both of the Volts. Finally, the Nissan Leaf
impressed with its refinement and performance, but both
vehicles were close to empty by the end of the loop – despite
the limited length of the drive and the moderate speeds.
In the end, it was the SKYACTIV Mazda3 that delivered a
combination of fuel efficiency, performance and value that
was unmatched.
As the pressure to improve the efficiency of the automobile
increases, technologies will evolve. No single technology will
replace the ICE and many of those technologies will be years, if
not decades, away from arriving. In the meantime, the Internal
Combustion Engine will remain a stable technology in the
automotive arena. Conventional vehicles, as well as hybrids,
will continue to depend on the proven technology represented
in the ICE. SKYACTIV represents the current benchmark in ICE
and will continue to evolve over time. SKYACTIV not only has the
ability to enhance the efficiency of all conventional vehicles, but
address some of the shortcomings of hybrids as well. In tandem,
Mazda is developing hybrid and electric technology to meet
future needs.
SKYACTIV technology results in vehicles
that are cleaner and more efficient without compromising
performance. This ensures that customers can feel good about
their choice of vehicle – and the way it drives.
